Nigerian singer Burna Boy has won the Best African Music Artist Award at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
The African musician has received the accolade at Los Angeles. Besides him, Rema is another African artist who has received the award for the Best Collaboration Award for the song Calm Down that he sang with the world-famous singer Selena Gomez.
The 2024 iHeart Radio Music Awards was hosted at the Dolby Theatre by the rapper Ludacris. The award show was telecasted live on FOX channel on Monday, April 01, 2024.
The award function was also broadcasted live on various channels of iHeart Radio Stations nationwide and also through the iHeart Radio App.
Other than Burna Boy and Rema, Wizkid and Tems were the only Nigerian artists who have won the iHeart Radio Music Awards.
The 12th iHeart Radio Music Awards saw the stage performances by the artists Justin Timberlake, Lainey Wilson, TLC, Green Day, Jelly Roll, Tate McRae and many others.
Where, legendary music icon Beyonce won iHeart Innovator Award, Cher received award for the iHeart Icon of the Year. The landmark award was received by the Green Day and songs such as Calm Down, Creepin, Cruel Summer, Dance The Night, Fast Car, Flowers, Last Night Paint The Tow Red and Vampire were nominated for the category of Song of the Year, but the award was received by the SZA for the song Kill Bill.
The award show consisted of various music categories in which the artists were rewarded such Taylor Swift was recognised for being the Artist of the Year.
One Republic was awarded for the Duo/Group of the Year. Best New Pop Artist Award was given to Jelly Roll. Pop Song of the Year 2024 was given to Flowers by Miley Cyrus.
Taylor Swift again won the Pop Artist of the Year 2024. GUTS by Olivia Rodrigo was considered as Pop Album of the Year. Heart Like a Truck by Lainey Wilson was recognised under the category of Country Song of the Year.
There several distinguished awards categorised for different genres such as Hip-Hop, R&B, Country, Pop, African Music, Rock, Dance, Latin Pop/Urban, Regional Mexican, K-pop and many others such as Producer of the year, Songwriter of the year, Best Lyrics, Best Music Video, Best Fan, Social Star, Favourite Tour Star, Favourite on-screen, Tik-Tok Bop of the year, Favourite tour style and favourite album of the year.
