Buganda, East Africa: The 1990s were a time of great change for the country. Charles Peter Mayiga, the late Angelina Nnabakooza, has urged the people of Buganda to follow the example of the late Angelina Nnabakooza.
He was speaking at the funeral of Angelina Nabakooza, who became a Buganda Hero after showing courage and roots in hiding King Muteesa II, saving him from the 1966 attack on his palace by Obote’s robbers.
He said if she saved King Muteesa in 1966, and the gift they set up did not shake her, the people of today should also be involved in all the initiatives brought to build and bring Buganda back to the top.
The service was led by Fr. John Paul Ntambaazi of Ssembabule, representing Pastor Severus Jjumba of Masaka.
He urged people to strengthen relationships with different people and trust each other to help them develop.
He thanked the deceased for his brave act and asked others to follow his example.
The children of the deceased thanked the King for his assistance in caring for their mother, building him a house where he has lived, treating him, and caring for him in various ways.
