Botswana: The Botswana Red Cross Society participated in the graduation for 29 students of Tlamelong Rehabilitation Centre. They completed a two year training in Horticulture and Textile.
The red cross society society shared many pictures from the graduation ceremomy on social media. During the event, the members of the BRCS appreciated the students for completing their training.
Many students with disabilities from Tlamelong Rehabilitation Centre participated in the training from many regions of Botswana. The class of 2023 came out with flying colors through their committment and hardwork.
The performance of the students were assessed through the Madirelo Training & Testing Centre (Trade C). According to the reports, the students completed their course and training with good results.
The graduating class of 2023 participated in a practical vocational training course. At the graduation, the Director of the National Disability Coordinating Office Peggy Garebaitse thanked the Botswana Red Cross Society.
She recollected that the organization has been working with the Tlamelong Rehabilitation Centre for almost five decades. The collaboration started in 1974. Garebaitse said that BRCS has helped the people with disabilities live a good life for many years.
Meanwhile, the Secretary General of the Botswana Red Cross Society also addressed the students at the graduation. He remembered the history that the BRCS shares with the Tlamelong Rehabilitation Centre.
He spoke about the partnerships and collaborations between the two organizations, highlighting that they helped in the graduation of 14 cohorts since inception. The Red Cross society of Botswana has helped many of the graduates by offering entrepreneurship opportunities and life skill trainings.
Further, one of the students who is graduating the course also shared her appreciation for the initiative. She highlighted the effort and commitment of the BRCS and other stakeholders in making this initiative a success.
Finally, the organization presented Certificates and business starter packs to the graduating students. With this, they will be able to start their own businesses in their communities.
