Botswana: The Botswana Red Cross Society has teamed up with the MVA Fund Botswana to host a sensitization exercise for road users. The aim of the initiative is to educate the people of the country to be careful while driving on long routes.
The road sensitization exercise was hosted at the Tropic of Capricorn and the two organizations were cautioning the road users to remain safe while they travelled from their homes and places of worship.
The officials have shared that they are dedicated to ensuring that the people of the country are safe while driving their vehicles. The officials have shared that during the sensitization exercise, the people of the country were urged to use safety measures.
The Botswana Red Cross Society urged the people of the country to drive responsibly and keep a first aid kit in the vehicle at all times. The organization has taken this step to ensure that no tragic incidents follow the festivals.
Botswana has seen two tragic accidents involving road vehicles which claimed many precious lives in the country. A bus travelling from Botswana to South Africa met with a tragic accident as it fell off the road and claimed 45 lives.
Another accident within the country, where a bus caught fire has shaken the nation to the core. Botswana Red Cross Society is doing its part in addressing the situation and educating the people on being vigilant while on the road.
The Botswana Red Cross Society team has asked the people to take this opportunity to train for First Aid. Through the training they can learn the various techniques on how to stabilize a person’s condition until professional help arrives.
The First Aid Training for the people of the country includes CPR, wound care, and managing burns or fractures. Through this initiative, people can save precious lives. The people of Botswana attended the sensitization initiative in large numbers.
They also appreciated the organization for taking this initiative and helping many members of the community be educated.
