At present, Cape Town International Airport is buzzing with a record-breaking 226 weekly international flights. The Cape Town Cruise Terminal will host 88 ship visits during the 2024-25 cruise season.
Reportedly, these milestones reflect the growing status of the Cape Town as a global tourism hotspot.
Member of the Mayoral Committee for Economic Growth – Alderman James Vos said that the tourism industry of Cape Town continues to go from strength to strength. He extended its gratitude and said, “thanks to a focussed, multi-pronged strategy between the City of Cape Town government and our partners.”
Vos expressed further that their efforts prioritise air route expansion, also aims to captivate airline partnerships and cruise tourism in order to attract both domestic and international travellers. These impressive numbers confirm the success of the collaborative approach.
Alderman Vos has recently conducted site inspections at Visitors Experience Centres located at Cape Town International Airport, City Hall and mobile units across the city to ensure a seamless experience for all visitors.
These centres are operated by Cape Town Tourism (CTT) and are hubs of activity and vital resources for visitors. Whether to book tours, find insider tips from the friendly staff or to discover hidden gems, these centres make it easier for the tourists to explore Cape Town and enjoy it more.
CEO of Cape Town Tourism – Enver Duminy expressed the excitement for the holiday season and highlighted the importance of the Cape Town Visitor Guide as a key resource for all travellers.
