Cape Town: The City is building together 5,932 new home owners. The Human Settlements teams of the City of Cape Town and the residents have got a reason to celebrate, as the title deeds have been delivered over the past few months as part of the accelerated title deeds campaign.
Reportedly, 4000 more title deeds need to be delivered to qualify residents across the city as part of the campaign. The City of Cape Town is making a significant progress towards reaching the goal of delivering 10,000 deeds. The residents were encouraged to contact the Human Settlements Call Centre to find out more.
Member of the Mayoral Committee for Human Settlements – Councillor Carl Pophaim said that as the City Human Settlements Directorate, they celebrate the significant milestone of delivering the title deeds to qualify beneficiaries. The successful campaign is all about empowering the communities and they are committed to do so, one title deed at a time.
Pophaim highlighted that their teams have been working incredibly hard from the recent months and this achievement is a crucial milestone for them in the programme. They have 4000 more title deeds to go and they are doing all they can to deliver to the residents in the coming months.
The title deeds have a profound impact on the lives of beneficiaries and the recent success is a testament to the commitment to assist the communities that they serve in Cape Town.
According to the Human Settlements Councillor, Carl Pophaim cleared that through the unique title deed programme, they are committed to land reform in all of the communities and they are pleased to see so many homeowners and less state tenants.
He stated further that receiving a title deed fosters economic empowerment in families and provides stability for many generations. While they celebrate with the 5,932 families that they have assisted. The work is far from over and they are ramping up the efforts to assist the remaining qualified beneficiaries.
