City of Cape Town is building stronger communities as Leonsdale beneficiaries received the title deed. Councillor Carl Pophaim and officials handed over title deeds to qualifying residents in Leonsdale, as part of a mission to empower the communities.
Reportedly, the Human Settlements Directorate of the City of Cape Town is on a mission to build stronger communities through its title deeds programme.
Member of the Mayoral Committee for Human Settlements – Councillor Carl Pophaim, who is also an official in the Human Settlements Directorate honoured the qualifying beneficiaries with title deeds in Leonsdale.
During the honouring ceremony, the residents have been encouraged to reach out to the city to find out more about the title deeds programme.
Considerably, the programme will be in many more communities over the coming weeks and the residents are urged to inform or visit the Cape Town Civic Centre.
Councillor Carl Pophaim said that their teams have been working hard and they were looking forward to empower many more beneficiaries.
He added, “This week we handed over title deeds in Leonsdale and in the coming weeks we will be in Samora Machel, Delft and other areas.”
Pophaim mentioned that approximately 12,000 title deeds need to be delivered to qualifying residents and the City of Cape Town is making it significant to progress towards reaching the goal, with one title at a time.
According Councillor Carl Pophaim, the city’s mission of empowering residents is bearing fruit and they are committed to help as many residents as possible with the innovative title deeds programme.
However, the City of Cape Town thanked beneficiaries, residents, city staff and all the stakeholders for their support and they looked forward to assist more residents in as many communities as possible.
Furthermore, there are some title deed beneficiaries that people need to know. If you or a family member, is a beneficiary of the City unit without a title deed, here are somethings that you need to do.
First, identify the easily recognisable title deed agents visiting your area. Then, have the necessary documents ready, such as – the Owner ID and spouse ID (if applicable), Marriage certificate (if applicable). In the event of a death, provide a Letter of Authority & Death Certificate.
