Cameroon: The coach of the National Football Team of Cameroon – Rigobert Song, reassured all the Cameroonians for tomorrow’s match between Cameroon and Senegal.
The manager and selector Rigobert Song of team FECAFOOT made a statement, “Now is not the time to talk too much… We are going to put in place a tactic that will allow us to take 03 points against Senegal.”
The coach is so sure about beating the Senegal team as “Senegal used a 3-4-3 system in their 3-0 win over Gambia. Diatta and Jakobs, who play on the flanks of the 4-man midfield, function as wingbacks. They joined the 3-man defence when the team defends and join the 3-man attack when Senegal attacks,” explained ADE Divine.
The journalist also mentioned that the key for Cameroon will be to concentrate on the wings, to exploit the spaces behind the wingbacks Diatta and Jakobs when they attempt to push forward.
He explained that if Cameroon can get the ball into those spaces, Niakhate (who plays from the left centre back) and Koulibaly (who plays from the right centre back) will be dragged out of position to cover the space on the sides and at this time there will be just one centre back and Cameroon can exploit the spaces.
According to ADE Divine, “By concentrating on the wings, Senegal’s wingbacks could also get conscious to stay behind. In as much as this will help their team defence-wise, it will handicap them going forward because the biggest weapons of their 3-4-3 system are the wingbacks.”
All in whole, Cameroon FECAFOOT has to concentrate on the wings. Wingers have to be smart and the midfielders and defenders also have to be smart enough to pick out the wingers with long balls before Senegalese wingbacks recede. That’s where Onana’s long balls come in too, explained ADE Divine.
Following the Rigobert Song’s statement, Yungho Young commented, “Win or stay in Ivory Coast. We have tolerated enough. Eto’o, too, is not free of this. Let him be prepared.”
Another person, Jong Momfor, wrote, “The assurance is not backed by any meaningful plan to win. Some of us will not be surprised if he does not win and tell us he was not employed to win Senegal. After all, he once told us he was not employed to win friendlies.”
