Malawi: Dedza Police Station Women’s Network donated school uniforms and other scholastic materials to students at Mazanjala Primary School in the district. The organization has shared that the donation was done on Friday using funds generated through fund raising initiative.
The Dedza Police Station Women’s Network raised a massive K400,000 through their innovative clean-up initiative. The donation was made with the aim of supporting the students in need.
Sergeant Beatrice Jefita Public Relations Officer for the Dedza Police Station thanked the people for their support in raising the funds for the event. The officer said that they are happy to see the support that they have received from the community.
The officials have shared that this is a show of solidarity that the members of the community have shown for the students. The PRO has shared that the collaboration between the Police Force and the community can make a significant difference.
Jefita said that the Women’s Network has helped make significant positive impact on the life of the people. The network is responsible for several community-driven efforts which have helped make life easy for several officials.
She added that the network is committed to make a difference in the lives of people who need support. The success of the fundraising programme is proof of the fact that with the support of the community.
The Head teacher of the Mazanjala Primary School has thanked Dedza Police Station Women’s Network. Menard Magaya, said the act showsofficers’ kindness and commitment to the improved welfare of the earners.
“Your efforts will undoubtedly make a significant difference in their lives,” said Magaya.
Shama Chimangeni, a Standard 6 learner thanked the donors on behalf of fellow beneficiaries and promised that they will work hard on their studies. Before the handover of the donated items, students were given valuable lessons in road safety, they were informed about the dangers of boarding open vehicles during school trips.
The organization has shared that it is important for the youngsters to be able to talk to their parents as they can help avoid decisions like suicide. The children were also urged to work hard and do academically well
