It also motivates the other members of the community to take inspiration from the gesture and remain kind. The women’s group donated a number of items to the prisoners of Deza Police Station.

The items included Cooking Oil, Buckets, Sugar, Soap, Packs of soya pieces, and Maize flour, just to mention a few.

The Vice Chairperson of the Dedza Women Dawa Group, Lahema Lifa delivered a brief address at the event. The Vice-Chair Lady announced that the donation was part of the Eid celebration from Muslim women to brothers and sisters in Police cells.

“Every woman has a motherly heart and she cannot leave her child to die due to hunger despite committing a crime. This is the reason we decided to cherish our sons and daughters in police cells as part of this year’s Eid celebration,” she said.

Lifa encouraged her fellow women to always develop a hard working spirit. She called on the women not to depend entirely on men for their sustenance. The leader of the woman’s group noted that women can also do better just like men.

Dedza Station Officer, Superintendent, Clement Mulera thanked members of the Women Dawa Group for their donations. At the same time, he promised to use the items for the intended purposes.
