Zimbabwe: The Doek and Slay event, held last month in April was a great success, considering which the official organisers of the women’s get together has extended their gratitude.
The organisers have shared an official note on their facebook page and wrote, “Doek and Slay April Tour was nothing short of amazing, yet the ladies of Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare and Gweru came out and slayed.”
“We are so grateful for the continued support. Thank you for allowing us to grow and learn whilst having the most epic experiences ever!!!” said the Doek and Slay.
They extended their gratitude to the artists and teams who worked behind the scenes and mainly considered performers such as Feli Nandi, Jah Parayzah, EXQ-MR Putiti, Enzo Ishall, Travelers band, band fusion, DJ Simbatunes, Mc Lexie, Butterfly, Mc Nomar and Albtin Production Studio.
Doek and Slay also acknowledged Zwana Sound and Lighting who are the pioneers of high-quality lighting, beautiful stage and solid sound that they can never neglect and get enough of. “You are amazing,” added officials of Doek and Slay.
They also added, “Thank you all so much. Kuti Doek and Slay Kuti imimi, makatikoshera (which translates To Doek and Slay, you are important to us). Stay connected for more pictures.”
Reportedly, Doek and Slay event was organised at Alex Sports Club in Harare on April 07, 2024. The event began at 11:00 a.m. and continued till late. It featured artists such as Jah Prayzah and Travellers Band.
The visitors grooved to the continuous beats of the DJ as the Doek and Slay invited all the ladies to the Sunday event.
The Rhodesian ladies entered in a pre-decided dress code which was Floral Print Dresses Plus Doek and Shades.
Moreover, the event was observed in three different sessions for which the tickets were available at the different prices.
Doek and Slay is an organisation that arranges events especially for women only. It is the safest space for ladies where they slay, flourish in Doeks and unite.
It is the new pastime for ladies, in fact, it is a dress code for attendees that may change from one edition to another or different colour codes.
The event has become a culture for every Sunday that after attending Church prayers, women pack their picnic baskets and cooler boxes. They dressed up in the decided colour of the day and may also wear their Doeks.
Doek and Slay event increased the craze in the capital city, Harare and the organizers have taken it all around Zimbabwe. The event ensured that women from across all walks of life experienced the fun.
