As per Karman, “They killed two soldiers and one of police officer along with 50 other villagers.” They kidnapped the community leader of Dankade village and abducted several of town’s women and children.”

It came a week after an armed man himself killed 200 people from one state of Zamfara.

According to Didzi Umar Bunu, the son of an abducted community leader, the gunmen had returned early on January 16. Then he burned more houses in the village.

He added that they have not called or made any demand. However, the village of Dankade has been littered with dead bodies all around.

Nafiu Abubakar, one of the police spokesperson for Kebabi, did not respond to his calls and messages.

Kebabi is a state which shares the border with Zamfara, where the government in September started a military offensive and charged a telecom blackout to alleviate the condition of gangs it calls terrorists.

According to President Muhammadu Buhari, the military started its major military operation in Niger state, next to Kebabi, to clear robbers and Boko Haram insurgents running from the authorities offensive.
