Former soccer star Ntshumayelo warns against Drug & Substance abuse

South Africa: Yesterday, 12 December 2022, Free State Premier Sisi Ntombela received a visit from one of the sons of the soil, a former football star who hails from Heilbron, a small town in the Free State.

A young man who flew the flag of the province high, donning the jerseys of Premier Soccer League clubs like Orlando Pirates, Supersport United and Swallows FC, Thandani Ntshumayelo. A footballing magician is known for his wizardry in the middle of the football pitch.

Ntshumayelo is an anti drug and substance abuse activist who is also a recovering drug addict who has devoted his life to waging war against a life of drug and substance abuse.

Thandani also took time to share his journey to recovery from drug addiction and sent a strong message to discourage the youth from using drugs and be law-abiding citizens who protect Women and Children, Anti- Gender-Based Violence and Femicide activities.

As a token of his appreciation to the Free State provincial government for its support, Ntshumayelo donated food packages for a less fortunate family and also gifted Premier Sisi Ntombela with one of the shirts he donned during his playing days.

The once superstar has devoted his life to speaking against a life of drugs and developing the lives of others, particularly young people in the province.
