The authorities have demolished all the structures that housed material for illegal trading. Further, the Botswana Power Corporation has also disconnected the power supply in the area. The authorities have worked hard to ensure that the illegal activities in the area can be curbed.

The operation’s aim was to promote compliance and increase law enforcement visibility in the area. Further, the organization also wanted to confiscate goods such as gates, window frames, and trailers through the practice.

According to the authorities involved in the project, Most of the people operating this business are foreigners. They are operating their industrial enterprises without licenses, contravening Section 6 (1) of the Industrial Act Development 2019.

The information about the illegal businesses was made public by the government authorities on March 1. They have since pledged to make sure that these illegal enterprises are not allowed to remain functional.

The illegal businesses used services such as water supply, internet connection, and CCTV Cameras in their premises. The country’s people are happy with the efforts of the various organizations involved in the operation.

They have applauded the Gaborone City Council for acting on the situation and finding a solution to curb the illegal activities. The people shared that the next step for the operation must be mechanics inside Block 8. They are everywhere and responsible for spilling used oil in residential areas.
