Juba: Governor Lt Gen Dr Joseph Manytuil Wejang on Wednesday presided over the reconciliation meeting of Panyijiar County’s political leaders held in the State Coordination Office to end the political deadlock over civil and administrative differences between Panyijiar County commissioner and other stakeholders.
The meeting was attended by Samaan Chotyier, State Legal Advisor and SPLM Secretary, Gabriel Majiok Bol, Commissioner of Panyijiar County, Panyijiar County Executive Director and other political leaders of Panyijiar County.
In his keynote remarks, Governor Dr Joseph Manytuil Wejang said the political leaders of the Nyuong community must put the interest of the Panyijiar people first before the interest of political parties.
I want you to unite together and work for peace and unity among the people of Panyijiar. When we achieve peace, our people will have the services they deserve from the State government because without peace, no development, Governor Manytuil added.
As a government, our first priority is to maintain peace, security and unity of the people. The political parties are free to exercise their political agenda as long it doesn’t threaten peace and stability in the area.
Governor Manytuil was referred to as an example to Panyijiar County political leaders when SPLM IO launched its membership registration in Bentiu town this year, and It wasn’t disrupted by security organs.
He called on the Panyijiar County commissioner to allow political space for the political parties and carry out their political activities without hindrance.
Governor Manytuil assured his full commitment to work for peace and unity among the people of Panyijiar and reiterated the promise of PAYING back the people of the Nyuong community with services as rewarding after their overwhelming firm support to Dr Joseph Manytuil Wejang during the 2008 SPLM convention.
Governor Manytuil concluded his remarks by pardoning the Panyijiar County commissioner, Gabriel Majiok Bol, to resume his duty as Commissioner of Panyijiar.
On his part, Panyijiar County Commissioner Gabriel Majiok Bol appreciated Governor Dr Joseph Manytuil Wejang for bringing together Panyijiar County political leaders and ending the political deadlock. Commissioner Majok assured Governor Manytuil that he would work closely with all other political parties to maintain peace and stability in Panyijiar County and also to deliver services.
