Zimbabwe: Road accident in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe has injured eleven individuals, out of which one has been confirmed dead on Sunday. The accident involved a Honda Fit whose driver lost control of his vehicle. The motor vehicle, after losing control of the vehicle, struck 11 members of the Johanne Masowe Church who were returning from church.
The official police reports suggest that the victims were returning from night prayers in Nketa. The accident, according to the first responders, happened near Chicken Corner leisure outlet. The officials have shared that the emergency services responded to the call for assistance and found the 11 members with various degrees of injuries.
Bulawayo Chief Fire Officer, Mhlangano Moyo has claimed that the spot of the accident was chaotic when they got to the location of this horrific accident. The officials said that when the team reached the road, they found all eleven victims lying on the road.
Some of these victims had fractures, spine injuries and other wounds. The officers also confirmed that one of the 11 victims was trapped underneath the vehicle.
This victim was and later pronounced dead on the scene of the crime. The Brigade has claimed that the other victims were taken to Mpilo Hospital for treatment for their injuries
Preliminary investigations suggest the driver lost control of the vehicle. Moyo confirmed, “The information we gathered is that the Honda Fit driver lost control and ploughed into a group of Johanne Masowe Church members who were returning from night prayers.”
The other ten victims and their conditions are unknown at this time. The victims are recieving treatment for their various injuries.
Meanwhile, the community has come forward to extend their heartfelt condolences on the death of one of the victims. The accident sheds light on the importance of road safety and responsible driving.
The lack of concentration on the part of the Honda Fit Driver has jeopardized the lives of 11 victims.
