Zambia: A family from Chikanta’s Jongolo Village in Kalomo District has been reported for breaking into a New Apostolic Church and eating the holy communion. The incident happened on Monday, February 19. The people of the country have expressed concern about the hunger situation in the region.
Jongolo Village Headman, Diverious Jongolo, questioned the family why they ate the holy communion. At this point, the family alleged that they had nothing to eat at home.
Mweebo Village Headmen in Chikanta Chiefdom, Bruno Munsaka, condemned the behaviour of the family. He added that it was disappointing to see people stealing from the house of God.
The people of the country have expressed that this incident sheds light on the severity of the hunger situation. Many regions across Zambia have been facing the issues of food security and many traditional heads and village communities have expressed their concern on the situation.
They have asked the government to intervene and provide relief in the Kalomo District. The people have taken to their social media to express their views on the situation. Meanwhile, the people have also supported the family in their struggles for food and security.
Social media users shared that the church should have helped her people. Sometimes the church is selfish. It collects money from people when they are doing fine. But when the same people are in need the church is selective when giving help.

Another social media user said that the headman should not be disappointed that people who are suffering from hunger provide for the people and such is happening.
