Zambia: The government of Zambia has handed over a 1×2 classroom block in Kaoma Central Constituency’ Libinga Primary School. The classroom block at the cost of K492,000 with the aim to create a good learning space in remote areas.
Kaoma District Commissioner Kashina Sheba said the handover of projects such as classroom blocks had become a common activity in Kaoma Central Constituency and the entire district ever since the New Dawn Administration took over office and increased the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
Ms Sheba assured the people of Libinga community that the government is aware of classroom challenges faced by many learners in the community and will continue to construct more classrooms across the constituency and nationwide to provide a safe and conducive learning environment to attain quality education.
Kaoma Central Member of Parliament Brigadier, General Morgan Sitwala noted that the New Dawn government is fulfilling its campaign promises to all the electorates in the country of delivering infrastructure development and other social services in every community.
“This building you are receiving today is just the beginning of the many development programs that your government is doing in this area and more is yet to come such as clinics, clean water, staff houses and roads among others. You have also benefited from loans, grants and this is what you voted for in 2021 to ensure that you all benefit from the national cake,’’ Brig Gen Sitwala said.
Meanwhile, at the same handover, Kaoma District Education Board Secretary Dickson Pola commended the government for its continued support to the sector of providing classroom blocks and desks to ensure that children access quality education.
Pola said the new infrastructure will improve on the standards of education in the Kaoma district and enable learners in rural schools to compete favourably with their counterparts in urban areas.
He urged all parents in the area to take full responsibility in ensuring that their children learn well and concentrate on their studies.
