The Health Right Kenya hosted a male engagement forum, “Olpul”, and a Mother-daughter forum in Kenya. The forum was conducted in partnership with the Health Ministry and the County Government of Narok.
These forums were officially led by Health Right International, CEO Peter Navario and the Health Right Kenya Board of Directors, and the management team, County Manager Peter Ofware. During the forum, the concerns related to health, gender and the environment were discussed.
The team also held health facility interactions with MCH and Maternity clients, Staff and Community-Based Distributors (CBDs).
The forums were structured in nature. They emerged as a powerful strategy for cultivating meaningful dialogue and catalyzing positive change.
The ongoing New Partners Initiative (NPI) Expand Project within the County seeks to boost reproductive and maternal neonatal health services access. These services are accessible for the last-mile communities.
During the forum, more than 1,542 locals were reached through this project. While more than 4,626 were indirect beneficiaries.
Notably, these forums were held to foster gender equality and eradicate traditional patriarchal structures in the community. Many African societies are patriarchal in social and cultural structures.
In the ever-evolving landscape of societal norms and expectations, this forum is a call for change in Access to Reproductive and Maternal Health Services.
Health Right Kenya is a Health and medical-based Organisation that delivers goods and services to the people. The Organisation has taken many such initiatives to promote people’s well-being.
Recently, the team made a courtesy call to the County Government of Narok offices and met Narok North and Central Sub-county Medical Officer and the health management team.
The teams did stocktake the gains in the collaboration efforts made in the New Partners Initiative (NPI) Expand Project within the County. They also looked into opportunities that will boost access to reproductive, maternal, and neonatal health services for last-mile communities.
