South Africa: Premier Maqueen Letsoha-Mathae visited the Crime Prevention Groups in the province. The Premier was accompanying MEC for Community Safety, Roads, and Transport, Jabu Mbalula during this meeting.
The Crime Prevention Groups which met with the leadership of the Free State include, Botshabelo patrollers, the Community Policing Forum (CPF), Botshabelo Crime Preventors, TRWV, and others.
The visit was aimed at improving the province’s response to crime incidents in the country. The officials have shared that they want to encourage the crime prevention groups to work together.

The officials have shared that the members of the Crime Prevention Groups have given access to specific plans for the festive season. The law enforcement organizations have shared that the community patrollers should also be part of the crime prevention stratagies.
MEC for Community Safety, Roads, and Transport, Jabu Mbalula and Premier of Free State, Maqueen Letsoha Mathae have pledged support to the groups. They have provided pepper sprays and tasers to the members of the community.
Hundreds of people got access to the pepper sprays and tasers in managing the crime incidents in the country. The premier also addressed the Crime Prevention Bodies. She said that unity is important for the prevention of criminal activities.
