Mauritius: A briefing exercise aiming at sharing important information to delegates representing Mauritius at the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention 2023 to be held on 08 to 10 January 2023 in Indore, India, was held yesterday at the Indira Gandhi Centre for Indian Culture in Phoenix.
An information kit consisting of relevant information regarding the events spanning over the three days, as well as regulations to be followed by the delegates, was distributed. Each delegate also obtained a pass to represent the country during the convention.
The Minister of Arts and Cultural Heritage, Mr Avinash Teeluck and the Deputy High Commissioner of India, Mr Vimarsh Aryan, were both present during the briefing.
Speaking to the delegates, Minister Teeluck highlighted that it is a matter of pride that the Mauritian delegation consisting of 435 participants, will be the largest one to be participating in the event. The Minister expressed gratitude to all those who have registered themselves as participants and showed keen interest in partaking in the convention.
The Minister emphasised that it would be a privilege for the participants to attend a live address of the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. Besides, it will be an opportunity for them to visit Indore and discover a new culture, he added.
Furthermore, Minister Teeluck assured the delegates that the Ministry would try to resolve to its best all the issues that they will be facing before leaving for India and during the event. He added that their queries and concerns voiced out during the briefing session have been noted and will be sorted out wherever possible.
The Minister also underlined that the information kit distributed to each participant contains crucial information that will ensure their safe travel and smooth running of activities. He urged them to abide by the regulations and to act responsibly so as not to miss any event and to avoid getting into inconvenient situations.
