Limpopo Health MEC, Phophi Ramathuba, celebrates Christmas morning by welcoming newborn babies at Mankweng Hospital. The celebrations were held not only in Mankweng Hospital in Capricorn District but also in Mopani District on Monday, 25 December 2023.
Limpopo Executive Mayor of Capricorn District Municipality, Cllr. Mamedupi Teffo and councillors from neighbouring wards also joined MEC Ramathuba in this celebration.
MEC Ramathuba also shared her happiness through a heartwarming message in which she said, “We joyously embrace these precious arrivals on the special day of Jesus Christ and extend our heartfelt wishes for a life filled with happiness, robust health, and prosperity.”
She continued by saying, “In the midst of our festive celebrations, let us pause to acknowledge the invaluable gift of life that each of these little ones represents.”
“To the parents and their families, may your holiday season be unforgettable, brimming with love, laughter, and abundant blessings,” expressed MEC Ramathuba.
LIMPOPO PROVINCE CHRISTMAS BABIES PRELIMINARY STATISTICS 2023:
1. Vhembe District- 4 boys + 3 girls = 07 babies.
3 Teenage mothers aged 15, 16 and 18.
A 15-year-old mother from Malamulele Hospital delivered a girl at 00h05 weighing 1900g through NVD.
2. Sekhukhune District – 5 boys + 2 girls = 07 babies.
2 Teenage mothers aged 18 and 19.
An 18-year-old mother from Jane Furse delivered a boy at 01h30 weighing 3850 through C/S, and a 19-year-old mother from Dilokong Hospital delivered a baby through NVD.
3. Mopani District – 04 boys + 04 girls = 08 babies.
01 Teenage mother aged 16.
2 babies, a boy and a girl were both delivered at 00h25. A boy from Dr CN Phathudi Hospital weighing 3000g was delivered through NVD, and a girl from Nkhensani Hospital weighing 2600g was delivered through C/S.
4. Wateberg District – 01 boy + 03 girls = 04 babies
3 Teenage mothers aged 16 and 19.
A 19-year-old teenage mother from. Mokopane Hospital delivered a girl at 00h04 weighing 3070g through NVD.
5. Capricorn District – 04 boys + 3 girls = 07 babies.
01 Teenager, a 19-year-old mother from Knobel Hospital, delivered a boy at 00h41 weighing 3353g through NVD.
