Mehul Choksi, who is responsible for a massive $2 billion fraud against India’s PNB bank, is now using his fraudulently acquired funds to delay his extradition from Antigua and Barbuda. Continuing his deceptive streak, Choksi has been deploying his financial resources to escape the consequences of his actions in India.

In a bid to strengthen his case in Antigua and Barbuda, he extended a hefty bribe to the country’s officials and manipulated the evidence against him. However, his tale of corruption was unrestricted to the officials, as he allegedly used his money to buy journalists and bribed several media organizations, assisting him in surfacing the narrative of kidnapping and victim of inhumane behaviour.

According to the leading UK newspaper, Mehul Choksi secured his first win in court. However, some unconfirmed reports have also revealed that Choksi paid £15,000 to the journalist to have the article published in the newspaper.

In an attempt to spread his narrative into the media, Mehul Choksi has constantly been approaching journalists and using his financial resources to manipulate the evidence against his kidnapping story by bribing government officials. As per the reports of the Caribbean Daily, and Associates Times, the Choksi has been leveraging his fraudulently acquired wealth with the intent to continue his story of intrigue and deception and avoid facing the course of actions against his mischiefs.

Several reports disclosed that Mehul Choksi had deployed a PR agency to handle his case and position his narrative as the correct version of his disappearance. UK’s newspaper has also been reached out by a PR agency to get Chokis’s article published. While circulating the clouds of confusion in the story of Choksi, the PR agency used his connections within the media industry and spread his narrative to a wider audience. These conspiracies have added unnecessary exaggeration in the efforts to bring justice to his case and further tarnish the reputation of some news organizations.

The glimpses of the paid news were quite prevalent in the new article published for Mehul Choksi as it lacked crucial information and facts that could erase the victim phase of Mehul Choksi’s story. The article has a paucity of the key reports published by Financial Crime Consultant Kenneth Rijock and CBE QPM and Former Assistant Commissioner of MeT, UK – Tariq Ghaffur. The unlettered article raised questions on the credibility of the article.

Besides this, the case of Barbara Jarabik, who is one of the primary accused in Mehul Choksi’s case, was dismissed by a court in the UAE due to a lack of evidence to prove her involvement in the alleged kidnapping. Along with that, a Red Corner Notice was issued against her by Interpol, which was later withdrawn due to a lack of evidence.

The story of Mehul Choksi, who is a fugitive Indian businessman and jeweller, has captured the attention of the world. Choksi, the uncle of Nirav Modi, another Indian businessman and jeweller, is the central figure in the alleged $2 billion fraud at India’s second-largest state-owned bank, Punjab National Bank (PNB).

The scam, involving the issuance of fake Letters of Undertaking (LoUs), came to light in early 2018, triggering an international manhunt for Choksi and Modi. Choksi obtained citizenship in the Caribbean nation of Antigua and Barbuda and is residing in the island nation, fighting attempts by the Indian government to extradite him and bring him to justice.

Choksi claims that he is innocent and that he was unfairly targeted by the Indian government.

In a dramatic twist, Choksi disappeared from Antigua and Barbuda in May 2021, only to resurface in the neighbouring island nation of Dominica. He further framed the story of kidnapping and stated that he was forcibly taken to Dominica by Indian agents, who planned to transport him back to India.

However, inconsistencies in Choksi’s statements, a lack of evidence supporting his claims, and the dismissal of kidnapping allegations against key individuals, such as Barbara Jarabik, have raised questions about the credibility of his narrative.

The saga of Mehul Choksi’s disappearance has been rife with allegations of corruption, media manipulation, and political intrigue. As the story continues to unfold, the truth behind the disappearance of the Indian fugitive remains elusive, leaving the public and authorities to sift through conflicting narratives and shadowy connections.

With Choksi’s extradition still pending, the ongoing battle for truth and justice in this high-profile case continues to make headlines around the world.
