Botswana: The Botswana Police Service has successfully reunited a missing 26 year old teacher with his family. The missing person, identified as Dennis Motsie was serving as a teacher at the Malaka Primary School.
He was reported to be missing 2 months previously on September 19, 2024. The officials of the Police Service had been investigating the missing person’s case. The teacher has been located in Marabastad, South Africa, and repatriated to Botswana in good health.
Botswana Police Service (BPS) Public Relations Officer, Assistant Commissioner Dipheko Motube, confirmed the development. They spoke to the media regarding the missing case and informed the media officers that, “We are pleased to announce that Mr. Motsie has been safely returned to Botswana. He was positively identified by his family at Tlokweng Border Post this morning.”
The Botswana Police Service, South African Police Service (SAPS), and local community members in South Africa have helped in ensuring the safe repatriation of the missing person. “We extend our deepest gratitude to the SAPS and the public who assisted in tracing him,” added Motube.
Motsie’s family expressed relief and appreciation. “We are overjoyed to have him back safe and sound,” said a family spokesperson.
The officials have shared that the family have extended their sincere gratitude to the Police Service. The cross border officers from South Africa have also played a very important role in finding the victim.
