Windhoek, Namibia: The police force of Namibia received the reports of four separate house break-in incidents on Friday and Saturday. Three incidents were reported on Friday, while the fourth occurred on Saturday. The occurrences were concentrated around Windhoek. According to the officials, the combined value of stolen items is around N$ 70,000
Per the reports, the suspects in each incident stole more than N$ 10,000 items. The Namibian Police has started their investigations. Meanwhile, the people expressed their dismay over the increase in these criminal activities.
On Friday morning, October 20, 2023, unknown burglars broke into a house in Kuaima Riruako Street, Windhoek West. They were responsible for stealing the personal belongings of the family. The victims have suggested that the stolen items’ value was N$10,000.
In another incident on the same day, criminals targeted a kindergarten in Helena Angula Street, Single Quarters. They made away with nineteen plastic chairs, five plastic tables, toiletries, and stationery, totalling N$10 100.
Further, in the third incident on Friday, burglars broke into business premises in Hans Dietrich Genscher Street, Shadumbala. The robbers successfully stole a concrete machine valued at N$27,000.
During the early morning of Saturday, October 21, 2023, in Otjomuise, unknown suspects broke into a house in Ghanzi Street, making off with two TV sets, a soundbar, and a cellphone, valued at N$22,000.
Some people expressed surprise at what the criminals stole. Regarding the kindergarten break in, the people on social media also questioned what the robbers would do with kindergarten chairs and tables.
Meanwhile, talking about the break-in on Saturday, October, 21 people wondered why no one saw the suspects leaving with a large piece of equipment.
Reportedly, criminal activities have recently increased in the various Communities of Namibia. The community believes that the criminal elements are rationing as december is very close.
Some social media users also took the opportunity to urge the Namibian Police Force to increase their patrols. They believe that the police force needs to increase their efforts to combat crime in the country.
