South Africa, KwaZulu Natal: A 32 year old man visiting his twelve (12) year old neighbour allegedly propositioned her for oral sex in exchange for cash.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to Redcliffe – KwaZulu Natal (KZN) at approximately 18:58 yesterday afternoon (Friday) after receiving a call for assistance from the child’s mother.

On arrival, Reaction Officers met with the female, who stated that the neighbour entered her residence yesterday (Thursday) while she was at her place of employment.

The suspect allegedly propositioned her minor child to perform oral sex on him. He offered to pay the girl R20. He thereafter attempted to grope the minor, but she fled from the house.

The child confided in a neighbour who informed her mother this afternoon. The woman approached the accused, and he fled on foot. He was pursued by other males in the area and apprehended a short distance away. They returned with him and contacted the RUSA Operations Center for assistance.

Another neighbour complained that the man entered their home in August 2022 and concealed himself under their daughter’s bed. During the course of the night, the girl heard noises in her room and called out to her family. They discovered the suspect under the bed. A criminal case was registered by the family of the girl.

According to the suspect’s family, he suffers from mental health issues.

During an interview with Reaction Officers, the accused denied allegations levied against him by the 12 year old. He claimed that he entered the residence to lend her his cell phone to call her mother.

The suspect was handed over to the Verulam South Africa Police Station (SAPS) for further investigation.

However, his neighbours are saying that he might have some mental issues, but at the same time, they claim that he knows everything and he knows what he is doing, and they said he is a danger to the community, so it is better he gets appropriate treatment.
