Nigeria, Bayelsa: The Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, rounded off his constituency campaigns in Yenagoa Constituency 2. The event took place on Sunday, November 5, 2023. The official social media account of the Governor shared some images from the event on their social media.
The Governor is making the rounds of the constituency ahead of the state government elections in Bayalesa, which are scheduled for November 11, 2023. The visit aimed to interact with the various members of the constituency and amass their support for the upcoming elections.
This was the final day of the re-election campaign for Douye Diri’s second term as the state governor. The Constituency by Constituency Prosperity Campaign Trail for the re-election of Gov. Douye Diri and his Deputy, Sen. Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, ended at Gbarain/Ekpetiama Kingdom.
The campaign for the re-election has been ongoing for several weeks. The team has participated in rigorous but enjoyable campaigns across various communities in the nooks and crannies of Bayelsa State.
His Excellency was well received by His Majesty, King Bubaraye Dakolo of Ekpetiama Kingdom, at his palace in Gbarantoru. The welcome of the Governor and his deputy was further astonishing welcome from the people of the kingdom.
The campaign trail later moved to Agudama-Ekpetiama for a rally where the supporters reaffirmed their readiness to re-elect the Governor come November 11.
Also, the former Deputy Governor and former acting Governor of the State, Werinipre Seibarugu, after receiving the Governor and his team at his residence, promised his total and undiluted support for his re-election as he believes that Gov. Diri has done well and should be rewarded to do more.
Seibarugu had only recently, with his political dynasty, dumped the APC and the Guber Candidate, Timipre Sylva.
Social media user Onyeche Success Onyeanuna wished the leader well for the campaign.
