Zambia: The administration of the Njebelwa Primary School in the Mungwi District is in need of new infrastructure construction. The authorities have shared that they have requested the government to make better decisions.
The Acting School Head Teacher Christopher Kamfwa has reflected on the importance of the project. They have shared that it is crucial for the school to have better in infrastructure to serve to the needs of the students
The school currently has two classrooms for the students to learn in. This number is extremely low in light of the number of students that the school has enrolled.
The lack of infrastructure is discouraging some pupils to attend classes.
“Currently we have 296 pupils in the school. Further there is only a single one by one by two classroom block to accommodate these students. The students who donot sit in classes have to be accommodated in the school grounds.
And the Acting Head Teacher says that the Ministry of Education should establish a secondary school in the area. This will help the students get access to higher education and make a better future for themselves and their family and loved ones.
The lack of a secondary school within the locality is also led to a increase in school dropout rate among people who have graduated from primary schools.
The construction of secondary schools will motivate more students to attend the school. This will make sure that they will complete their education.
The construction of the classroom blocks will not only ease the congestion that the school is facing, it will also encourage children to attend school daily. The government of Zambia has been working hard to promote education facilities in the country, however, it is important for the schools to be at par with the government standards.
Further, it is also crucial to make sure that the schools have enough space to accommodate learners.
