Nigeria: The Executive Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government Area, Onengiyeofori George has recently inaugurated a 13-Man committee. The team will be handling the distribution of forthcoming food aid announced by the government of Rivers State.
This initiative aims to address the pressing economic challenges faced by residents amidst rising living costs. The food aid will help many families get access to nutritious meals without the cost burdening them.
The aid seeks to give families access to better living standards. The food aid will consist of 42,000 metric tons of assorted commodities. The officials have shared that the food aid has been approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The aid was given to Rivers State through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture to Rivers State.
The inauguration ceremony for the 13 man committee was hosted on Monday. During the event, Executive Chairman George asked the members to do their duty with integrity and impartiality.
He added that It was very important for the deserving beneficiaries to get the food aid so that their lives can be easier. He asked the committee to ensure that the distribution of the food will be carried out in an equitable manner.
He further noted that they must not politicize the food aid distribution process. He noted that the food aid is intended solely for the benefit of those in need.
Further, Onengiyeofori George extended his gratitude to all committee members and the community at large for their unwavering support. He also thanked the members of the community for maintaining peace and order throughout his tenure.
