Nigeria: The ASALGA Agricultural Development Advisory Committee has submitted their report of agriculture sector developments in the local government. The Executive Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government Area, Onengiyeofori George received the committee at his office in Buguma City on Monday.
The ASALGA Agricultural Development Advisory Committee was constituted several months ago. The aim was to help the administration come up with initiatives to help in the development of the agriculture sector.
The committee has been working diligently towards the development of the sector. They spent several months on the deliberations, consultation and research for the final report.
The final report that the committee presented to the executive chairman has been Christened ‘Proposal on Agricultural Development Projects in Asari-Toru Local Government Area’. The chairman said that the report is an important step towards ensuring the country’s development.
The Supervisor, Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Afiye Dappa, presented the comprehensive document to the Executive Chairman. At the time of the handover, Dappa was accompanying the Advisory Committee’s Secretary, Emmanuel D. Asawo.
The supervisor of the Department of Agriculture talked about the team’s efforts in the finalization of the document. He reiterates the thoroughness of the work done and how holistic it is.
Further, the supervisor assured Chairman George that the blueprint could make the LGA an Agricultural hub among the riverine LGAs in Rivers State. Meanwhile, the Chairman of the ASALGA was happy to be presented with the document by the committee.
Executive Chairman Onengiyeofori George appreciated the Committee’s efforts while coming up with the blueprint. He said that he was confident in their ability.
Further, he promised to immediately forward the document to appropriate administrative offices for immediate consideration, adoption and implementation.
The people of Asari Toru Local Government Area are also happy with the development in their area. Some of the people expressed their delight through social media. They also asked the Local Government Area to provide more information about the development and publicise the blueprint.
