Dominica: Prime Minister Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit highlighted #OK2HP scheme during the Budget 2025 Debate held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the Parliament. The debate session began at 10:00 a.m. where he addressed the gathering and discussed various issues. There he said that this secures the future of the Public Servants.
The major topic raised was the 2% loan that will be given to a home. This Housing Program is introduced by the Labour Party government as ‘OK2HP’ – which stands for Opportunity Knocks 2% Housing program, housing for our heroes.
While talking about the Housing Program during the Budget 2025 Debate, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said that this 2% loan will provide actual benefit to the people of Dominica.

So, if a police officer goes to the Government Housing Number Board and applies for a loan of $400,000 at 2%. But his counterpart who went ahead of him to bill and now has a 7% interest rate yet the difference between took two of them.
Mouthful payment at 2% will cost $1470 per month. At 2% his counterpart will pay $2661 a month at 7%. At 7% of the total interests for a 30-year period he will be paying $132252 over the 30-year period, he’s come to part over 7% will pay $550,000,46. Further the government is seeing the real impact.

Considering this, first lady and Minister of Housing, Land & Urban Development – Melissa Poponne Skerrit also shared a poster of Housing Program which confirms that OK2HP is a special offer introduced for Police Officers 8 Public Servants.
