Dominica: Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit visited to Phnom Penh, Cambodia and met with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia – Hun Manet on Oct 09, 2025. A bilateral meeting was held at the Peace Palace to strengthen bilateral relations.
During their meet both the ministers expressed the shared commitment to deepen the relations between Dominica and Cambodia, by focusing on expanding cooperation in trade, economic development, agriculture, tourism and people-to-people exchange.
The nature island continues to strengthen its global partnerships and expand its diplomatic footprint as they work towards the development of the people and country.
On Thursday, both the nations agreed to strengthen and expand their bilateral ties with cooperation for mutual benefit.
Considering the discussions that took place in Cambodia, PM Hun Manet said that Prime Minister Skerrit’s visit was an important opportunity to strengthen and expand bilateral relations and cooperation, as the year 2025 marks the 15th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
PM Skerrit of Dominica and PM Hun Manet of Cambodia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on establishment of bilateral consultations which intend to promote the practical cooperation in potential sectors of mutual benefit for both nations.
The MoU is expected to facilitate regular dialogue and coordination on issues of mutual interest by paving the way for a more structured approach to diplomatic engagement.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Dominica and Cambodia on April 27, 2010 the two countries have worked to cultivate a partnership, that is characterised by friendship and solidarity.
Previously, in March 2023, Cambodia and Dominica signed an agreement to exempt visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and service passports. The agreement was signed during the visit of Dominica’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Business, Trade and Energy to Cambodia – Vince Henderson on March 23 to 24, 2023.
