St Kitts: Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew congratulated the reigning Calypso Monarch, Queen Independent for her success at the 2023 Senior Calypso Monarch. She is winning the annual Calypso Monarch Contest for two years in a row.
The prime minister appreciated her for defending her title at the Senior Calypso Monarch Competition. The event was hosted on December 29. The finalists of the competition were Singing Jackie, Issa Kamal, Lady Composer, King Craig, King Socrates, Queen Independent Lady Diva, and King Hollywood.
The competition was tough as all the contenders were renowned and beloved in the music industry. The winner, Queen Independent, gathered a total of 809 points from the judges. The people of the country have appreciated her for reclaiming the throne of the Senior Calypso Monarch.
The first runner of the contest was a newcomer, Issa Kamal. He delivered a remarkable performance at the contest and gathered 805 points. PM Terrance Drew appreciated the artist for his performance.
He also applauded the veteran musician King Hollywood, who secured the 2nd Runner-up spot with a remarkable total of 796 points. He has been competing in the competition for several years. The participants who performed at the competition added to the charm of the contest.
