St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew officially announced to host AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum (ACTIF) 2026. He revealed this during keynote address at the 32nd Annual Meetings of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) in Abuja, Nigeria.
This revelation positions St. Kitts and Nevis at the centre of a historic and growing movement to deepen institutional and commercial ties between Africa and the Caribbean.
Afreximbank: A premier platform for fostering collaboration
The ACTIF series was launched by Afreximbank in 2022, which has rapidly become a premier platform for fostering strategic collaboration across the Atlantic, and will draw hundreds of investors, policymakers and business leaders from both regions.
Considering this major announcement, Prime Minister Drew said that St. Kitts and Nevis is honored to be chosen as the host of ACTIF 2026. They are grateful for this opportunity and are ready to welcome everyone as it provides a great platform for all.
This year, ACTIF 2026 will mark the 5th annual installment of the groundbreaking forum. The event is follow-up of highly successful editions that were arranged in Barbados (in 2022), Guyana (in 2023), The Bahamas (in 2024) and Grenada (in 2025).
Notably, each forum has generated multi-billion-dollar trade and investment commitments and has facilitated robust dialogue on areas such as renewable energy, agro-processing, fintech, tourism and cultural industries.
PM Drew praises President Prof. Benedict Oramah
During his keynote address, Prime Minister Drew praised Afreximbank and its President – Prof. Benedict Oramah for their visionary leadership in bringing the Caribbean into the bank’s strategic orbit.
He emphasized that the 2026 ACTIF event will be built upon the legacy, strengthening South-South cooperation and creating lasting opportunities for both regions.
In addition to this, the announcement accelerates development trajectory of the St. Kitts and Nevis under the Sustainable Island State Agenda (SISA), with major reforms in renewable energy, food security, healthcare modernization and investment facilitation, all of which will be featured prominently during the 2026 Forum.
The announcement by the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis has received enthusiastic applause from Afreximbank delegates, Caribbean leaders and African Business Leaders, that signified the growing confidence in the twin-island nation as a destination for global convening and meaningful trade diplomacy.
