St Kitts: The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew met with the leadership of the leadership team of Travizory Border Security SA. The meeting was significant s the nation is preparing to become the first ever nation in the Caribbean to implement the eTA.
The implementation of the advanced Electronic Travel Authorization will help the nation in ensuring the safety and security of its nationals. The eTA will help in streamlining the border management in the island. It will also mark the beginning of using cutting edge technology and artificial technology in the country.
The officials have shared that the eTA will also use facial biomatric for the benefit of the people. The officials have further shared that the team of the Travizory Border Security SA team were in the federation for he meeting with the Prime Minister.
After meeting Prime Minister Terrance Drew, the Travizory team led by CEO Renaud Irminger also held an introductory meeting with national stakeholders. The officers hosted several crucial meetings on the implementation on the eTA system in the federation.
The Prime Minister has shared that they want to work with international partners to make sure eTA is implemented smoothly. With this new development, St Kitts and Nevis is establishing its border security standard to be at par with nations like United Kingdom, United States and Canada.
After he implementation, travellers from nations with Visa Free access, will need to apply for travel authorization prior to their visit. This initiative falls in line with the nation’s commitment to modernize.
The stakeholders of the nation who are involved in the official implementation, have lauded eTA. They believe that the programme will help in making travel to the twin island federation more seamless.
The nation, with the implementation of the eTA, has solidified its position as a regional leader in innovation, tourism, and security. The nation is the first of the Caribbean nations to digitize their borders. The nation hopes that their lead will be followed by other nations in the Caribbean.
