St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Dr Terrance Drew recieved a donation of medical equipment from the Republic of China (Taiwan). The long time partner of St Kitts and Nevis donated wheelchairs to the Ministry of Health.
The donation included other medical supplies which are essential for the Ministry of Health. The authorities have shared that Cao Zhong Zhi Foundation made the donation possible through the embassy of Taiwan in St Kitts and Nevis.
The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis recieved the donation from the Ambassador of Taiwan to St Kitts and Nevis, Michael Lin. He was present at the handover ceremony both as the Prime Minister and Minister of Health.
The Prime Minister took to his social media to share his gratitude to the Republic of China for their generosity. The Prime Minster asserted that the donation will help in improving the healthcare capacity of the people.
At the JNF General hospital, the wheelchairs will improve the mobility of the patients who need help getting around due to age or health complications. The donation was meant to improve the capacity of the main healthcare organization of the country.
The donated items will also be distributed to the other clinics in St Kitts and Nevis. The donation aimed to address the shortage of equipment for the communities across the twin islands
The Ambassador of Taiwan to St Kitts and Nevis hoped that the donation will be used well by the people of the island nation. He asked Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Social Development and Constituency Empowerment to distribute the items to people who need support.
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew acknowledged that the Republic of China (Taiwan) has helped St Kitte and Nevis in several development avenues. This is also not the first time that Taiwan has come forward to assist St Kitts and Nevis in improving their healthcare capacity.
Prime Minister Drew was grateful for all the support that Taiwan has extended in the direction of St Kitts and Nevis. He hoped that the collaborations can continue.
During the handover ceremony, Dr Drew announced that Taiwan and St Kitts and Nevis are creating subcommittees to facilitate exchange of knowledge between JNF General Hospital and Taipei General Hospital
