South Africa: Premier MaQueen Letsoha-Mathae visited Steynsrus and addressed the concerns of its residents. She had promised to organize a visit to the community at Fezile Dabi District Social Compact Imbizo in Tumahole on September 27.
At the event Residents had shared their concerns regarding lack of job opportunities and service delivery challenges. The officials have shared that the members of the community are delighted to welcome the Premier of Free State. Premier Letsoha-Mathae, accompanied by MEC Jabu Mbalula.
She listened to the residents’ concerns and announced a transparent recruitment process for the construction of the road linking Kroonstad and Steynsrus. This move aims to rectify past injustices where people were employed without being present.
“We are going to embark on a transparent recruitment process for the construction of the road linking Kroonstad and Steynsrus,” Premier Letsoha-Mathae said. “The process used in the past, wherein people were employed while they were not even present, was unfair and the complaints we received were justifiable.”
The Premier of Free State said, “Your complaints are genuine and deserve our attention. It will therefore not assist to respond to them now. I therefore commit to come and give you an audience in Steynsrus.”
The Free State Provincial government wants to bring fairness and equity in employment opportunities. Through the project, the province will also solve service delivery challenges, and help in promoting economic growth of the region.
The province will witness a significant amount of infrastructure development. Premier Letsoha-Mathae is committed to transparency and fairness. Her visit to Steynsrus has also proven to residents that the administration is dedicated to their well-being.
Residents of Steynsrus thanked the premier and MEC Jabu Mbalulafor the visit and shared their problems with them, The Premier shared several images from the visit on the province’s official social media.
They expressed their appreciation for her dedication to the well-being of the people. As the Premier of the Free State, MaQueen Letsoha-Mathae has continuously prioritized the needs of her community.
She has proven that her leadership is committed to transparency and fairness.
Premier Letsoha-Mathae has made also several efforts to address social issues which are prevalent in the province. These include: Gender-Based Violence and Femicide. Authorities believe that Premier Letsoha-Mathae has set a high standard for leadership and governance.
