Nigeria: One of the famous Nigerian musicians, Mohbad, died on September 12 in controversial circumstances, and as per sources, his body has been exhumed from a private cemetery in Lagos, Nigeria, for an autopsy.
The autopsy is being conducted in response to public outcry and rumours surrounding the circumstances of Mohbad’s death. Local residents are raising questions about the place where he was buried and saying the images on social media of his burial are not true because Mohbad father buried him in a private cemetery.
One of the residents, Shaibu Danjimoh, said, “He was not buried in the cemetery or talk of the private cemetery, he was buried in his land at Ikorodu Lagos, and these not the place please we should stop playing with people’s emotions.”
People seemed so sure that these pictures were not the same as another user said,”This isn’t the photo na…And note, he wasn’t buried in a cemetery.”
As per the sources, Mohbad’s Father wanted to bury him at midnight he died, but the Head of the Landlords, Ikorodu, prevented him from doing that and asked that they wait till the next day.
Mohbad burial occurred next day of his death on September 13. Nigerians have demanded that an autopsy be carried out on him after the startling revelations of him being harassed and assaulted while alive.
The Lagos state police command, on Monday, September 19, set up a 13-man committee to carry out a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding his demise.
People are protesting for Mohbad (Imole), the young, talented Nigerian artist, and people want justice because, as per them, killers are still out and breathing.
“I call on all the Nigerian music industries to look into this matter and bring justice to Mohbad’s death…For now, no artists should release a song until there’s justice for Imole, said the user.
