It considered a result that enabled both the soccer teams – Bafana Bafana and Uganda to qualify for the 2025 tournament while sitting in their respective hotels in Kampala.
Charges on Broos can now go into their qualifier against the Ugandans. The match will be observed at the multi-purpose Mandela National Stadium, in Kampala on Friday.

Broos further stated that his team further want to win the game. They want to win to end top of the group, which means they have to beat Uganda. So this does not change anything for them.
“I hope that it will be a nice and a good game. It will be a full house and there will be a lot of fun happening inside the stadium,” said Broos. He stated further that this is motivation for the players and let them hope that the best team wins today.
Captain Ronwen Williams said that they want to finish the year 2024 on a positive note. They have had a wonderful year, moreover a successful year, so they want to keep building on that.
He mentioned that it is going to be a tough one against Uganda as they are excited. The week has been very amazing, as they have got some of the players back who have been injured and which is a good initiative.
Willaims expressed further that they have lost some of their players due to injury and they will be playing on their behalf as well because they have been on this journey with them.
It has been a long journey, and they are proud of their achievement, getting to AFCON back-to-back.
President of South African Football Association (SAFA) – Dr. Danny Jordaan congratulated the team, as it gets qualified for the next AFCON 2025, with two more games to spare.
Jordaan greeted congratulations to coach Hugo Broos. Also, to his technical and support staff, as well as the players and everybody who contributes especially towards the team.
As per Jordaan, it is a magnificent feat to get qualified for the next AFCON in the same year, when Bafana Bafana won the bronze medal at the tournament, which was held in Cote d’Ivoire from January 13, 2024 to February 11, 2024. He said, on behalf of the SAFA NEC, congratulations to the team.
