South Africa: Popular South African Restaurant – Siba Restaurant has been recognised as the Best Fine Dining Hotel of Africa. The eatery place was honoured at the World Culinary Awards 2024 in Dubai, UAE.
The World Culinary Awards is a prestigious ceremony related to food and cuisines that aims to shine light on the incredible talent and innovation that fills the culinary world with their unique and delicious taste.
At Summersalt Jumeirah Al Naseem, Dubai, UAE, the event was observed as a star-studded affair, including the ‘whose who’ of the industry, where the South African renowned chef – Siba Mtongana was recognised for running the Africa’s Best Hotel Restaurant.
Adding to the last year’s grand accomplishment, Chef Siba’s renowned restaurant snatched the award for Africa’s Best Fine Dining Hotel Restaurant, again. It is located in V&A Waterfront, Cape Town.
SIBA – ‘the restaurant’ is a popular tourist destination that offers fun and innovative dishes to the diverse local cuisines.
The former Bona cover star – Siba took it to her Instagram handle and penned a heartfelt message of gratitude. While writing caption she showed appreciation and dedicated the award to the lord almighty.
The star chef took her time to appreciate her core team and expressed that how well they held the things down while she was pursuing over other projects such as the SIBA DELI, which is located at Time Out Market in V&A Waterfront.

The whole journey of Siba in the culinary industry has been a heartwarming and definitely the one to witness. As being a child from Mdantsane, which is a small town in the Eastern Cape. She reflects a significant portion of the South Africa demographic which often remains disconnected from the world of fine dining and international cuisines.
Although it is not her responsibility, but Siba represented a bridging of two separate worlds and offered a representation for those, who were previously forgotten.
