Saint Lucia: Deputy PM Ernest Hilaire expresses pleasure after participating in 81st Meeting of the Board of Directors of CTO

Castries, Saint Lucia: Deputy Prime Minister of the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia and the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Industries, Ernest Hilaire, has shared an update regarding the 81st Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) in Curacao. He expressed pleasure in being a participant in the meeting.

The social media post by the deputy prime minister of Saint Lucia informed, “Today I attended the 81st Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) in Curacao.”

He further outlined that the mandate of the CTA is to position the Caribbean as a destination to visit year-round. Minister Hilaire mentioned that the meeting was productive, and the interaction was very productive, focusing on the development and growth of the region.

“The meeting today was very productive as we received updates from our discussions at the last meeting and charted the way forward as we go into the calendar year 2023,” he added.

Earlier last week, Ernest Hilaire, the minister of tourism, shared an update about his meeting with the Ambassador of the Taiwan (Republic of China) to St Kitts and Nevis Peter Chan and the Taiwan International Cooperation Development Fund (ICDF) as they ended a training program for Storytellers to enhance experiences in Saint Lucian local communities and presented their findings and observations to the staff of the Ministry.

The ICDF, along with the Tourism, Culture and Creative Industries Minister and other community stakeholders, were responsible for putting the program together for the storytellers of Saint Lucia. The program was implemented in a two-phased approach, with phase 1 of the workshop running from January 25 to February 1. As per the update, Phase 2 will start in May 2023.

Ernest Hilaire has contributed towards the development of the country and has participated in such campaigns, which have helped in the development of Saint Lucia.
