He further anticipated the success of the upcoming 44th Regular Meeting of the Heads of Government of CARICOM (Caribbean Community). The meeting will be held on February 15, 2023 (Wednesday).

“I look forward to the 44th Regular Meeting of Heads of Government of the CARICOM (Caribbean Community), which will be held in The Bahamas from February 15 2023, to further this cause with all my regional colleagues,” the post also informed.

In addition to this, on Wednesday, February 8, Prime Minister Pierre joined the efforts of the CARICOM Community and the United Nations to fight against climate threats. While leading the efforts to follow up the initiative, Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Amor Mottley joined PM, Philip Pierre.

The initiative was launched after the UN observed that the Caribbean region experienced a cycle of hurricanes around that time each year. According to the United Nations, the intensity and frequency of natural disasters have increased with the passage of time.

It, additionally, claimed that this was the reason why the region was chosen to launch the initiative. The initiative will act as one of the most effective climate adaptation measures. The UN Secretary-General António Guterres in November showed an early warning action plan for all initiatives, which should be accomplished between 2023 and 2027.
