Castries, Saint Lucia: Ernest Hilaire- Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, met with the Ambassador of Taiwan, Peter Chen, last week to wrap up the Community-based Story Collection Training Workshop.
The workshop was wrapped by the Ministry of Tourism of Saint Lucia. The training program is hosted by the government of Saint Lucia in partnership with the Taiwan embassy to enhance the experiences of the staff of the Ministry.
Deputy Prime Minister- Ernest Hilaire took to Facebook and shared glimpses of the meeting. He cited, “Last week, I met with His Excellency Peter Chen and the Taiwan International Cooperation Development Fund (ICDF) as they concluded a training program for Storytellers to enhance experiences in our local communities and presented their findings and observations to the staff of the Ministry.”
He stated that the program turned out to be successful with the efforts made by the ICDF and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Industries of Saint Lucia.
Ernest Hilaire added that ICDF, along with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Industries and other community stakeholders, were responsible for putting together the program for our storytellers. The program was implemented in a two-phased approach, with phase 1 of the workshop running from January 25th to February 1st.
He added that Phase 2 would commence in May 2023.
Taiwanese experts wrapped up for “Community-based Story Collection Training Workshop” at the Ministry of Tourism. Saint Lucia Ambassador Chen joined Dr Ernest Hilaire, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information, to attend the wrap-up meeting of the workshop and to discuss methods to uncover more intriguing stories to visitors.
Ambassador Chen Jiaqi in Saint Lucia and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism of Saint Lucia, Cirrell listened to Chairman Liu Keqiang and Secretary-General Li Zengru visited Lu for a two-week visit to conduct the “Culture and History Collection guided workshop” to train local people to discover and introduce the historical stories of the community.
