Prime Minister Philip J Pierre returned prematurely from the inaugural Canada-CARICOM Summit to be with his country’s people ahead of the arrival of Tropical Storm Tammy. The Tropical storm is expected to pass through several islands of the Caribbean, including Saint Lucia. The administration has perked up in response to the impending disaster.
The officials in Saint Lucia have been working diligently to ensure that the people can remain safe and sound in the face of the oncoming weather adversity. The Prime Minister of Saint Lucia understands the severity of the situation. He claimed that the news of Tropical Storm Tammy making its way to the region necessitated that decisions should be made swiftly.
The administration under his leadership is making efforts to communicate the situation to the people. The acting prime minister of Saint Lucia, Shawn Edward looked over the accessing of the preparation that needed to be done. He chaired the meeting convened by NEMAC to ascertain our preparedness for the approaching storm.
