South Sudan, Juba: The leadership of the SPLM ruling party is currently in a meeting at J1 or State House in Juba. The meeting is an emergency consultation after the deterioration of President Salva Kiir Mayardit’s physical health or fitness to carry on with the state activities.

According to SPLM Senior Members, he says that President Kiir Mayardit communicated with his close allies before the meeting took place, and the meeting it’s precisely going to focus much on who should be given powers to be the head of state since President has communicated his deteriorating health.

According to SPLM and National, Transitional Constitution says that the deputy President should take over power in case President is incapable of conducting his regular business as the head of state, but the process is a bit complicated, and we’ll articulate in the Revitalized Peace Agreement that the vice president who is a deputy in the political party should take power over from the President.

President Kiir Mayardit is willing to relinquish power after several pieces of advice from the Nationals and his Doctors, and the regional leaders.

Residents of the area seemed sad after hearing this news and also sent wishes for a quick recovery. One of the residents commented and said that “it is a matter of health conditions then, the President must leave for hospitalising and not the relinquishing of power has to be the first priority of who will take over as head of state. Ain’t in a good term with a below post in SouthsudanTMZ.”

Another user said,” I think this is a true and genius move by His Excellency Kirr to peacefully transit to another person. Health is wealth. It doesn’t need to be mixed with critical management affairs. But I wish him well in his next move and quick recovery. Embarrassment is normal until a concrete decision is taken. We love you, President Kirr.”
