St Kitts: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew has invited the people of St Kitts and Nevis to tune into his budget address. The theme of the 2024 budget address is: Marching Forward on the Journey to a Sustainable Island State.
The budget address will start at 10:00 AM on Wednesday and will be broadcast live by SKNIS Online Platforms, Freedom FM, ZIZ Radio, Winn FM, TVC Dominion Radio, Sugar City Rock and SKN Newsline.
This year, the budget will focus on the government’s mandate of transforming into a sustainable island state. Dr Drew, in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, is expected to make several major announcements for the next financial year. (January 2024 to December 2024.)
This year’s budget debate is extremely significant because the prime minister has involved the various sections of the country into the framing process. Dr Drew believes that every section of the Kittitian and Nevisian communities must have their voices heard.
Thus, the Prime Minister hosted many debates and discussions with the representatives of the various sections of the country. Dr Drew started acting on this mandate nearly two months ago, when he hosted a successful discussion session with the youth.
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew announced that he wants inputs from every members of the society. He asserted, during his meeting with the youngsters in October 2023 that often, the voice of the youngsters is left unheard.
This is also true for many other sections of the society, whose needs are often overlooked due to lack of representation and communications
Through the series of meetings and discussions with the various groups, he removed the barrier of miscommunication. PM Drew announced that every resident and citizen of St Kitts and Nevis has played a part in the development of the country.
Thus, it is important for the government to give them the chance to make crucial decisions about the future of their homes and country.

- Food Security
- Sustainable Industry
- Sustainable Settlements
- Circular Economy And
- Social Protection
The 2024 is expected to focus heavily on these pillars to create a path for sustainable development of St Kitts and Nevis.
