A taxi driver working in the Missionlands Area of KwaZulu Natal was shot on his head on Wednesday while he was at Estuary Drive.

South Africa: A taxi driver working in the Missionlands Area of KwaZulu Natal was shot in his head on Wednesday while he was at Estuary Drive. The victim was seriously injured due to the shooting incident and needed to be rushed to the hospital.

According to the information shared by the victim, he was returning to the house of his employer. At this time, his vehicle, a white Toyota Quantum was blocked by a white Toyota Corolla. The second vehicle was occupied by at least two suspects.

The registration number on the second vehicle remains unknown. Further, the victim reported that after the Toyota Corolla vehicle blocked his path, he tried to reverse the vehicle. However, at this point, one of the suspects fired at the victim.

The shot penetrated the windscreen and hit the victim in his head. By the impact of the shot, the minibus veered off the road and stopped in a dense bush.

After executing the shooting incident, the armed attackers fled from the scene of the crime in an unknown direction. The officials have shared that they have not been able to ascertain the motive for the shooting incident.

The Reaction Unit South Africa officials shared that they received the call of assistance at approximately 19:19. A team was dispatched to the Estuary Drive to help the victim. The officials have shared that on arrival at the scene, they discovered the victim bleeding excessively from his injury.

The Reaction Unit shared that the suspects might be motivated by a previous disagreement or enmity for shooting the victim in the head. The team has shared that they are investigating the incident and keeping track of the victim’s state.

The people of the community have expressed their concern for the safety of the 32-year-old victim. The people have called on the authorities to find a solution for the issue and make sure that these incidents are not repeated.
