Botswana: The Minister of Youth, Gender, Sport, and Culture Tumiso Rakgare officially launched the 7th edition of the Botswana Youth Awards. The launched at the Botswana National Youth Council Conference Hall with the members of the ministry in attendance.
The leaders of the organization shared some glimpses from the launch event on their social media. The launched event was hosted on July 7, in partnership with the Remmogo organization. The organization was led by Kagiso Morebodi who attended the launch event.
During the official launch, Minister Rakgare encouraged the youth to increase their participation. He urged the participant to seize the valuable opportunity to showcase their talent for the people of the country.
Talking about the Ministry’s initiative, he said that the ministry of Youth, Gender, Sport and Culture aims to recognize and celebrate their excellence across various fields. He also appealed to the private sector to collaborate with the government in sponsoring these awards.
The officials have shared that they want to work towards further development of young people in the country. The launch event was hosted under the theme of “Mindset Change, The Way to Go!”
The Minister of this year’s awards Youth, Gender, Sport, and Culture Tumiso Rakgare said that the awards fall line with the president’s National reset agenda (A re chencheng). The aim of the event was to celebrate and acknowledge the contributions of young individuals nationwide.
The awards sought to reward the achievements of the youth in the country and fostering their career development. Application forms for prospective nominees are available at all ministry district offices and online.
The launch event was graced by the presence of the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Bridget Poppy John, and the Deputy Permanent Secretary for Policy Implementation, Tshepo Mophuting among others.
The Ministry has been working towards helping the youngsters make the most of their talent and help them make a thriving career out of their talents.
