South Africa: Edu Invest celebrated the beginning of Christel House South Africa’s high school on its premises in Ottery. It is a partnership between Wesgro and Western Cape Education Department.
Edu Invest in powered by Wesgro, which is an official tourism, trade and investment promotion agency for Cape Town and the Western Cape, that do marketing at global level.
The official ceremony was attended by the Western Cape Minister of Education – David Maynier. It also welcomed Christel House’s South African Board, school leadership, teachers and learners.
Reportedly, this was sod-turning event that demonstrated the importance of collaboration in delivering quality education in the province.
As per the sources, this expansion will increase Christel House’s capacity by 300 learners, that provided more learners with the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty through quality. It also supports zero-fee education.
Western Cape Minister of Education – David Maynier commended the leadership of Christel House for the milestone and reaffirmed the commitment of the department to support Christel House’s mission to transform the lives of more children in the region through access to quality education.
Furthermore, Christel House is dedicated to guide the learners from early learning to career which is very inspiring. The 60 Grade 8 learners got selected from 50 neighbouring schools.
These selected schools have already begun their journey through a two-week programme which is especially designed to set them up for success.
Considering this, Wesgro officials stated that they are incredibly proud to support this initiative and witness the power of public-private partnerships in action.
