Zambia: The Zambia Air Force Commander, Lt Gen Colin Barry, has encouraged personnel who were not promoted in the recent promotion to continue working hard and remain loyal to the Air Force and committed to duty as it will pay off one day.

Zambia: The Zambia Air Force Commander, Lt Gen Colin Barry, has encouraged personnel who were not promoted in the recent promotion to continue working hard and remain loyal to the Air Force and committed to duty as it will pay off one day.

Lt. Gen Barry was speaking when he interacted with the newly promoted Members of the General Staff. The Air Force Commander emphasized the significance of promotions, stating that it is not just a step forward in the careers of those promoted but a testament to one’s exceptional abilities, unwavering commitment to duty, and one’s unyielding loyalty to the Air Force.

“But with every promotion comes great responsibility, and I have no doubt that you, the newly promoted generals and officers, are well-prepared to embrace the challenges that lie ahead. You must continue to serve as role models for your subordinates, inspiring and guiding them while always striving for excellence,” Lt Gen Barry Said.

The Air Force Commander reminded the personnel that their commitment to service extends beyond them, and he urged them to take pride in their duty to protect and serve and always act in the best interest of the Air Force and the nation at large.

Speaking at the same event, Deputy Air Force Commander and Chief of Air Staff, Maj Gen Oscar Nyoni encouraged personnel who were not promoted not to despair but to continue working hard, stating that there is always next time.

Maj Gen Nyoni instructed the newly promoted to make use of the ranks bestowed upon them to add value to the Air Force.

“Congratulations to each and every one of you on your well-deserved promotion. May you continue to lead with distinction, inspire those around you, and make a lasting impact on our organization and the country we serve,” Maj Gen Nyoni added.

Maj Gen Nyoni thanked the spouses of the newly promoted personnel for attending the promotion cocktail and for the continuous support they render their better half.

In a vote of thanks, newly promoted Brig Gen Kisho Moono thanked Air Force Command for identifying, handpicking, appointing and promoting personnel accordingly, stating that the promotions have transformed the lives of those promoted.

“We are very grateful, and we shall forever remain indebted to ZAF Command. We will continue to thank you, the Air Force Commander, for continuously grooming us to your satisfaction; we pledge total loyalty, dedication to duty and professionalism. We are eager to contribute to the growth of the Air Force’s strategy and to make significant contributions to the actualization of ZAF’s vision,” Brig Gen Moono said.

Brig Gen Moono also thanked the Air Power Ladies Mother Body under the able leadership of Sharmaine Barry for continuously mentoring the spouses of service personnel.
